Navigating the Chart

Charts tell users the direction that markets are trending and provide context to these movements. Each data set is different and has a different story to tell. By understanding how each of these data sets relate to each other, users will become experts in forecasting and getting ahead of pricing swings.

Here is a quick overview of charts and how to navigate them:

  1. Enter Symbol – this is where you can use the drop down “browse” menu or enter the ticker.granularity directly
  2. Compare – overlay as many different charts as you would like
  3. Chart Title, Current Value, & Daily Change
  4. Date Series – Change the time range that the chart covers. Use the box on the far right to select a specific date range in the past
  5. Views – you can save your displays and studies on the chart
  6. Display – change the format that the data is presented
    1. Absolute vs Relative – When using the compare function, change the setting to Relative when comparing two different indexes.
  7. Studies – choose from a variety of studies to better evaluate the data presented
  8. Crosshairs/Text Box/Draw Function
    1. Crosshairs provide exact values on the x and y-axis
    2. Text Box – turn on to find the exact value at any point along the graph

  9. View Symbol Information – pull up the details on the specific data you are viewing
